Anxiety disorders are very common around the world, and in the U.S. alone almost 20% of the adult population is affected by a form of this mental illness. There are different types of anxiety disorders, including generalised anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety and specific phobias. In general, women are affected by anxiety disorders more often than men.
Anxiety can develop from a chemical or hormonal imbalance in the brain, genetics and environmental factors, such as built-up stress, a learned pattern of behaviours and unresolved emotional or even practical issues. Physical symptoms and manifestations of anxiety include rapid heartbeat, chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, insomnia, tension and irritation. (more…)
This is slightly “off topic” for my blog but quick, easy and successful toilet training without stress and tears is certainly something that makes life easier and prevents a lot of frustration. I am really excited about today’s interview. We talked to Margaret Saunders from:
about toilet training in general and how to address some common toilet training problems.
Margaret’s approach is working within one day. This sounds amazing but after listening to her talk you will see that it is quite a realistic goal to achieve. I wish we had this information when we started toilet training our children. It would have made our life so much easier. (more…)
I am in the process of organising my first offline event with my business partner Charly Leetham.
The worskshop is all about getting yourself or your small business online. We will teach you how to do it in the most cost effective and simple manner and you will walk out with a “live” site. I will teach you some stretches and visualisation techniques.
As time goes on, I will tell you more. We are going to hold the workshop on 16 May, 2009 right in the Sydney CBD at a venue that is virtually a “stone’s throw” from Town Hall Station. We are also going to provide lunch, morning and afternoon tea – it is my job to look after all that. I love organising events and especially food – it really gets my creative juices flowing.
Do you like chilies? Hot food? Did you have a hard day and feel exhausted?
Certain foods may help to lift your spirits. Scientists have come up with the term “Pepper High Effect”. The chemical substance capsaicin which is contained in chili stimulates the pain receptors on our tongue. The body reacts and pours out endorphins.
Endorphins reduce pain and lift our spirits – we can even become slightly euphoric. “Endorphin” literally translated means the “morphine within”. The so called “runners high” is also caused by endorphins. Any type of prolonged exercise releases endorphins.
Coming to back to food: the “Pepper High Effect” can be triggered by chili sauce, fresh chili, chili powder, ginger, mustard, wasabi and horseradish.
Next time you are in a bad mood or stressed out, visit a Thai restaurant, this might just be the answer.
What an amazing blog talk radio show we had today with Margit Robson! Make sure you listen to the whole segment, Margit shares some amazing and profound insights and she explains everything in really simple terms. She uses the KISS principle – no, it is not what you think it is – Keep It Simple Spirit. At times my business partner Charly and I were lost for words because what Margit had to say resonated to strongly with us. Listen to our talk, you will get some great insights.
Margit has over 17 years experience as a gifted clairvoyant and teacher of the intricacies of spiritual development. Margit Robson enjoys sharing her gift with others to achieve clarity for their mind, body and spirit to provide inspirational addresses on finding the spirit within for positive life outcomes.
Margit is available as an inspirational speaker for conferences and seminars to enliven the spirit within audiences. Her mentoring skills are offered to all who seek to stay focused and balanced in life through her simple to learn techniques. Everybody needs somebody sometime, and Margit offers a guiding light to lift hope, instil trust and raise greatness.
Margit talks about the fact that the mind is our survival mechanism, our Mr. Fix-it and it is also the most powerful block which stops us from achieving our dreams.
All of us have “barriers” or “conditioning” which shapes our thoughts and actions. These “blockages” are created in childhood for many different reasons. At one time in our lives these barriers had a purpose, they did protect us or might have been useful in some other ways. Once we are adults, these barriers become hindrances and need to be removed. Fears of any kind complicate things, stop us trusting ourselves and stop us from achieving many different things.
Margit talked about the need to bring the mind, the heart and the soul into alignment. They are all different facets of ourselves and once they are aligned, everything else will fall into place as well. Our spirit talks with soft words through our heart and very often during our hectic lives, we don’t hear what it has to say.
One of the very important things we need to learn again, is to be still. Yes, we can re-learn the skill of being still, it needs time, practice and perseverance.
Do yourself a favour and listen to Margit’s interview – it is truly an eye-opener.
Also, Margit has made in incredibly generous offer to everybody who listens to her call. She is offering an amazing package.
